I joined basketball knowing that it was going to be one hell of a season! 2 hour practices of non-stop running, shoes squeaking, and sweat breaking. Our coach is very hard on us and always will because he knows what it takes to make it to the BCs. What we do in practice is what will turn out in our games. Stepping out onto the court, minding only the inside of that rectangular black line. When you see our team play we look phenominal. Sometimes, we may look sloppy but that's because we're trying new things and having fun with it. But when it comes to playing defense, you'll hear our coach scream his lungs out! "MAN UP!" either because we're playing soft or that we're not doing well on our end of the court. When you hear him screaming at us during the timeouts you'll know what he's like during practices! Always working you until you can't catch a breath. Which is how we become men and that's why he always reminds us to "MAN UP!".
I wonder how the girls are taking this topic....It's pretty difficult for a different gender! HAHA. My brother always gives me lectures to man up when my dad's on my case for not doing well on a test or not obeying what he said that I probably didn't hear. Manning up is a stressful thing to do and it takes a lot of strength, wisdom, and courage to accomplish it.
